About Me

Welcome to my Blog!  Let’s save some money together!  It doesn’t matter if you are living paycheck to paycheck or have plenty of money, nobody likes to pay more than they have to on everyday personal items and groceries!  Let’s stock up on items we can get for dirt cheap or free so we can save money and still have everything we need (and then some!).  Saving money where you can allows you to use that money on other things you really need or just want!  If you are just starting to coupon, be patient….it takes a few months to really get a good coupon stash going so you might not be able to get in on all the deals right away, but don’t worry, you’ll soon be saving LOTS of money!

If you have watched Extreme Couponing I hope it inspired you to want to save!  However, you don’t have to be “extreme”!  I’m certainly not and I don’t think taking it that far would work for most people.  Lots of new couponers go overboard in the beginning, but you’ll soon find what level of couponing works for you.  Here’s a peek a my small stockpile in my hall cupboard which is nothing too extreme.  I keep toothpastes, deodorants, candles, and other items in a different location.  You don’t have to have a Huge Stockpile to be successful – you just need enough to get you thru until the next sale comes around so you are never paying full price.  A larger stockpile may work for you and that’s fine too!  This is especially true for those with babies!  Wouldn’t it be nice to only have to shop for milk, bread and other perishables!

Don’t know where to start?  Read my beginner tips Here!

If you ever have a question or a deal to pass along please contact me at [email protected].  I’m happy to answer any questions and try to get back to everyone as soon as possible.  You can also leave a comment on one of the posts and other readers or I will respond.

  1. What changed with your website? Each time I click on a link, it takes forever and then turns up a blank screen. I can’t access any of the giant eagle matchups. Do I have to change a setting on my computer? Help!

  3. Tammy was just at giant eagle in mcmurray pa. They had .70 cents of on boxes of special k red berry that doubled plus the .20 cents fuel perks. If I figured it out correctly it worked out to be .10 cents a box. Awesome deal!!! Thanks for all your hard work.

  4. I have a suggestion. When adding in the fuelperks I don’t think many people will be getting 30 gallons of gas. The average gas tank is between 12-16 gallons. I think it would be a little more helpful if you did say…15 gallons instead. Or something a little more realistic.

I love your site though! It’s the best Giant Eagle resource on the web IMHO 😀

    • Thanks Jen for the input! I’ve had a few people email me as well and I appreciate the feedback from everyone! I will change up the way I do it and put in both ways – one for those that get 30 gallons and one for those that get 15. Thanks again!

  5. Just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!

My husband drove out to pick up my daughter last night & stopped at the GetGo to tank up with some tuna gas! He save the receipt for me — $0.00 — & my daughter took a picture. This is the first time I’ve managed to get fuel perks that high, & there’s enough left over for another tank-up, with some to spare. We’ve prepaid for gas and have lots of almost-free tuna for school lunches. This is so cool! And you & your blog have been a big help in making this happen! I really appreciate it.

  6. Hello,

Wasnt sure where to ask this question and haven’t seen in asked yet. There is a Value King near by and get there sales ad. There are always coupons on the front page that if you spend 10 dollars you get x for free. Now that GE is taking competitors coupons, do you know if they will take these? Thanks for all you do. Enjoy your sight.

    • They may take these….and I’m guessing they will (but I can’t guarantee it). For local stores, you need to ask someone at the customer service desk. I think it’s worth asking!

  8. Hey, just wanted to spread the word about the Chili Cook-Off coupon at the Market District stores. It’s good for $5 off any $30 purchase. There are stacks of them at the registers, & they are white with black printing, half-page size.

I didn’t notice until after I rang up, but I took mine to customer service & asked them to take it off, & they did that cheerfully.

I did tell other people in the store, & while I got some odd looks, nobody was upset about saving $5.

  9. There is a new Aldi opening up semi close to me, and on the back of their flyers, they have a $5 off $30 coupon. Will Giant Eagle honor these? I’m thinking they will, but I wanted to ask before I plan out a ton of transactions and it doesn’t work anyways!

    • I think they should take this with no problem….however it seems that some Giant Eagle stores are nicer than others. If the store is just opening and it’s kinda close to Giant Eagle then I would consider it a competitor:)

  14. I see all of the great deals with Giant Eagle, but they are when you stack a manufacturer’s coupon with a printable for one item. Does Giant Eagle allow this?

    Thanks

    Reply
    • Hi Chris – I list all possible coupons (that I can find) so under the deal you will find printables and ones from the inserts. This is just so you have a few to choose from but not to use all together. Example:

      Campbell’s GO Soups $2
      75¢/1 from 1/13 SS
$2/4 Printable (zip 37219) or Printable
      $1/1 Printable
Final Price: As low as 50¢

In this scenario, the BEST coupon to use would be the one from the 1/13 SS insert, but if you don’t have that one, you could always print out the printable coupons and use those instead. So the final price is as low as 50¢ – only if you use the 75¢/1 coupon. You are correct that Giant Eagle does not allow stacking coupons. Hope that helps 🙂 If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

  16. Is Giant Eagle accepting the free Market District bacon coupon? Their policy says they don’t accept printed coupons for free items. I’m confused.

    Reply
    • I was under the impression that it was only for their Market District Stores, however, someone had said that their regular Giant Eagle sells the MD bacon and they accepted it. This was an email directly from Market District that had a link to print the coupon. In order to print, you had to enter your email address (so I guess that it’s okay for those that weren’t already on their email list to get this coupon). Anyway, I guess since this coupon came straight from them that they were told to accept it. I think the intent is for this coupon to be used only at actual MD stores – they have the list when you enter your email address.

I would appreciate it very much if you could kindly email me a copy of that eBook.

  20. FYI – I visited my local Giant Eagle last night to use your stacking tip for Coffee Mate Creamers. I was notified, very forcefully, that they do not allow any stacking of any coupons and I would not be able to use this method anymore. Please let everyone know to check their local stores before trying to stack coupons. I’m beginning to see this happen alot at stores. It’s just typical that they don’t want to let you save any more money at their expense, even though they are getting paid anyway from the coupons. Just be careful and thank you for the wonderful blog. I’ve been couponing for about 6 months now and am still figuring out everthing through trial and error. Blessing to you and your family.

    • Hi Bernice! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Giant Eagle does not stack coupons so they were correct about that. Whenever I list multiple coupons for a deal, that is just to show everyone all the possible coupons that they could print and use but not to stack them. Hope that helps – if you ever have a question just ask 🙂

  30. Question– I had coupon for $1.00 off of Farmland bacon and on the bacon there was a coupon for free eggs. The cashier said I could not use the bacon coupon with the free eggs coupon. She said it was two manufacturers coupons on same item. I reread the policy it’s unclear to me if she was right. Can you clarify?

    Reply
    • Hi Pam! This one is a tricky one since to the shopper it appears that the coupon found on the bacon is for eggs but I’m guessing it’s actually coded for the bacon and not the eggs. So when you tried to use both the bacon coupon and the “eggs” coupon, the register wouldn’t take both. We have seen similar coupons like this in the past. For example, there were coupons for Buy 3 Kellogg’s cereal and get $1 Off milk. That coupon was coded for $1 off when you bought 3 Kellogg’s cereals….it actually didn’t even matter if you bought milk (However, with the wording on the coupon, the cashier should make sure that you did). So if someone tried to use a coupon for the Kellogg’s cereals with this coupon, it would beep and not be accepted unless of course the cashier did an override and let it go through. I hope this makes sense – you weren’t doing anything wrong by trying to use both but sometimes these coupons can be coded one way and worded another.

  31. Tammy, at my GE they have a display with colgate tp and band aids for $1. One of those free standing displays. They also still had the J&J bags to make your own first aid kit. I bought 3 of the band aids, used the $5/3 band aid coupon from the bag, and got the bag for free with the peelie on the bag. PLUS they didn’t adjust the $5 coupon down so I got $2 overage. I was so excited about this that I did it twice.

  38. Hi there,
I am just curious as to where you find the catalina deals that are listed? When I go onto the Giant Eagle website and go to checkout rewards they aren’t the same as the ones you have listed. For instance I bought the campbells soup deal and your matchup says I should have received 2 $1.50 catalinas which I only got 1, but when I look on their website it only says buy 2 get $1.50 oyno and not buy 3 or more and receive $2 oyno which is in your matchup. Thanks!

    Reply
    • Usually Giant Eagle only lists the catalina one way and not the full breakdown. These catalinas are often advertised from the catalina machine so if someone gets one, they will pass it along to me. If not, usually I can search for that catalina and find the details.

  40. Tammy, I am very new to all this but I order a bunch of the soft soap coupons for .50/1 and then noticed that the deal starting 9/18 is for 8 oz. The ones on sale are 7.5 oz. How do I avoid this happening again and what to do with the wrong coupons.

    Reply
    • Hi Tina! Yes, the ones on sale are the 7.5oz ones. The coupon listed in the GE match ups (https://www.ladysavings.com/2014/09/16/giant-eagle-matchups-91814-92414/) is the 35¢/1 from the 9/14 SS which is valid for the 7.5oz size 🙂 The 50¢/1 coupons are not valid and they usually are not. *IF* your store happens to carry the “bonus size” soft-soap, you may be able to use your coupons since the size will then match. The nicer 10oz bottles of soft-soap are on sale for $2 if you wanted to grab them for $1 with your coupons.
