About Me

Welcome to my Blog!  Let’s save some money together!  It doesn’t matter if you are living paycheck to paycheck or have plenty of money, nobody likes to pay more than they have to on everyday personal items and groceries!  Let’s stock up on items we can get for dirt cheap or free so we can save money and still have everything we need (and then some!).  Saving money where you can allows you to use that money on other things you really need or just want!  If you are just starting to coupon, be patient….it takes a few months to really get a good coupon stash going so you might not be able to get in on all the deals right away, but don’t worry, you’ll soon be saving LOTS of money!

If you have watched Extreme Couponing I hope it inspired you to want to save!  However, you don’t have to be “extreme”!  I’m certainly not and I don’t think taking it that far would work for most people.  Lots of new couponers go overboard in the beginning, but you’ll soon find what level of couponing works for you.  Here’s a peek a my small stockpile in my hall cupboard which is nothing too extreme.  I keep toothpastes, deodorants, candles, and other items in a different location.  You don’t have to have a Huge Stockpile to be successful – you just need enough to get you thru until the next sale comes around so you are never paying full price.  A larger stockpile may work for you and that’s fine too!  This is especially true for those with babies!  Wouldn’t it be nice to only have to shop for milk, bread and other perishables!

Don’t know where to start?  Read my beginner tips Here!

If you ever have a question or a deal to pass along please contact me at tammy@ladysavings.com.  I’m happy to answer any questions and try to get back to everyone as soon as possible.  You can also leave a comment on one of the posts and other readers or I will respond.

What changed with your website? Each time I click on a link, it takes forever and then turns up a blank screen. I can’t access any of the giant eagle matchups. Do I have to change a setting on my computer? Help!

Tammy was just at giant eagle in mcmurray pa. They had .70 cents of on boxes of special k red berry that doubled plus the .20 cents fuel perks. If I figured it out correctly it worked out to be .10 cents a box. Awesome deal!!! Thanks for all your hard work.

I have a suggestion. When adding in the fuelperks I don’t think many people will be getting 30 gallons of gas. The average gas tank is between 12-16 gallons. I think it would be a little more helpful if you did say…15 gallons instead. Or something a little more realistic.

I love your site though! It’s the best Giant Eagle resource on the web IMHO :D

Thanks Jen for the input! I’ve had a few people email me as well and I appreciate the feedback from everyone! I will change up the way I do it and put in both ways – one for those that get 30 gallons and one for those that get 15. Thanks again!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!

My husband drove out to pick up my daughter last night & stopped at the GetGo to tank up with some tuna gas! He save the receipt for me — $0.00 — & my daughter took a picture. This is the first time I’ve managed to get fuel perks that high, & there’s enough left over for another tank-up, with some to spare. We’ve prepaid for gas and have lots of almost-free tuna for school lunches. This is so cool! And you & your blog have been a big help in making this happen! I really appreciate it.

Hello,

Wasnt sure where to ask this question and haven’t seen in asked yet. There is a Value King near by and get there sales ad. There are always coupons on the front page that if you spend 10 dollars you get x for free. Now that GE is taking competitors coupons, do you know if they will take these? Thanks for all you do. Enjoy your sight.

15 Tammy September 13, 2012 at 5:57 pm

They may take these….and I’m guessing they will (but I can’t guarantee it). For local stores, you need to ask someone at the customer service desk. I think it’s worth asking!

Great Thanks. I easily spend 10 dollars. worth getting something for free if possible.

Hey, just wanted to spread the word about the Chili Cook-Off coupon at the Market District stores. It’s good for $5 off any $30 purchase. There are stacks of them at the registers, & they are white with black printing, half-page size.

I didn’t notice until after I rang up, but I took mine to customer service & asked them to take it off, & they did that cheerfully.

I did tell other people in the store, & while I got some odd looks, nobody was upset about saving $5.

There is a new Aldi opening up semi close to me, and on the back of their flyers, they have a $5 off $30 coupon. Will Giant Eagle honor these? I’m thinking they will, but I wanted to ask before I plan out a ton of transactions and it doesn’t work anyways!

I think they should take this with no problem….however it seems that some Giant Eagle stores are nicer than others. If the store is just opening and it’s kinda close to Giant Eagle then I would consider it a competitor:)

good competitor coupon to use with the Lays BOGOF sale starting at GE on 11/15/12. It expires 11/17/12 so it will need to be used quickly.

There is a coupon for eggs that I used today http://www.incredibleegg.org/ Just in time for Christmas baking. The eggs at my Giant Eagle were .99 so $1.98 for 2 less $1.55 coupon = .44 per dozen

there is a $1 oyno cat until 12/30/12 wyb 2 or more Knorr Homestyle Stocks. I received a $2/1 cat at GE and there is a 1.35/1 IP on coupon network when you watch the video. This should make for a good deal if the item goes on sale at GE. I don’t remember what the shelf price is.

Giant Eagle’s coupon policy doesn’t allow for printed coupons over $3:( There is a $3 off coupon that may still be available though:)

this might be a hit or miss item. yesterday my GE had their Ziploc holiday bags and containers at 50% off. I should have taken a pic of the list of prices but felt self conscious about whipping out my phone when the store was so busy. I’ve got my coupons ready and going back today. I will update in case anyone is interested.

I see all of the great deals with Giant Eagle, but they are when you stack a manufacturer’s coupon with a printable for one item. Does Giant Eagle allow this?

Thanks

Reply

38 Tammy January 19, 2013 at 2:46 pm

Hi Chris – I list all possible coupons (that I can find) so under the deal you will find printables and ones from the inserts. This is just so you have a few to choose from but not to use all together. Example:

Campbell’s GO Soups $2
75¢/1 from 1/13 SS
$2/4 Printable (zip 37219) or Printable
$1/1 Printable
Final Price: As low as 50¢

In this scenario, the BEST coupon to use would be the one from the 1/13 SS insert, but if you don’t have that one, you could always print out the printable coupons and use those instead. So the final price is as low as 50¢ – only if you use the 75¢/1 coupon. You are correct that Giant Eagle does not allow stacking coupons. Hope that helps :) If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Is Giant Eagle accepting the free Market District bacon coupon? Their policy says they don’t accept printed coupons for free items. I’m confused.

Reply

44 Tammy March 16, 2013 at 10:39 am

I was under the impression that it was only for their Market District Stores, however, someone had said that their regular Giant Eagle sells the MD bacon and they accepted it. This was an email directly from Market District that had a link to print the coupon. In order to print, you had to enter your email address (so I guess that it’s okay for those that weren’t already on their email list to get this coupon). Anyway, I guess since this coupon came straight from them that they were told to accept it. I think the intent is for this coupon to be used only at actual MD stores – they have the list when you enter your email address.

Hi Tammy,

Stumbled upon your beautiful and informative website while looking for a free download of ” 101 Home Uses of Hydrogen Peroxide: The Clean Green Home Revolution (Natural Miracles) eBook “. I went to Amazon as recommended by you but unfortunately, the free download is not available for the region where I am staying.

I would appreciate it very much if you could kindly email me a copy of that eBook.

Thanking you in advance.

Warmest regards,

Belinda

Hi Belinda,
I am still seeing the eBook as being Free. I don’t think it’s a regional thing, but Amazon’s prices can change really quickly so maybe when you looked it wasn’t free at that time. Here’s the link if you want to give it another try :) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BFFY6S6/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00BFFY6S6&linkCode=as2&tag=ladysavi-20

I hope you are able to snag it for free! If not, keep checking back and you may get lucky! I’m unable to email copies of Kindle books.

I have received my 3/24 SS inserts. Inside there is a .75/1 coupon for Palmolive Soft Touch Dish Liquid. According to information on the same page as the coupon, Giant Eagle has the 25 oz. bottle on sale until 3/27 for 2.50. The coupon would make it $1

got an announcement from the cat machine, that now through 9/22/13 (yes 9/22!) wyb 2 large Digiorno pizzas receive 1.50 cat. Purchases can be made over multiple store visits. Limit 10 rewards per participant. (must use your same shopper card) Only one cat per transaction so it looks like it will not print multiples. By invitation only. (I guess not everyone will be eligible for this?)
Good time to use the $2/1 IPs that were just out. (not sure if still available)
