Servings: 24 pies
- 1/4 cup Crisco
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1 cups Sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk save the egg white for the frosting!
- 2 cups Flour
- 2/3 cup Cocoa
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
- 1 egg-white
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 cup margarine softened
In a large mixing bowl combine crisco, margarine and sugar. Beat on high until fluffy
Add the egg and egg yolk to the creamed mixture and mix well
While mixing constantly - add flour mixture alternatively with soda mixture and the buttermilk to creamed mixture.
Blend until well mixed.
Drop batter by rounded tablespoonful 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake @ 350° for 8-10 minutes.
In a medium bowl on low speed mix together powdered sugar, egg-white, and vanilla.
Add margarine and crisco to mixture.
Beat on high speed until fluffy
