Ingredients

Creamed Mixture

  • 1/4 cup Crisco
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1 cups Sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk save the egg white for the frosting!

Flour Mixture

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2/3 cup Cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Soda Mixture

  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup hot water

Other

  • 1 1/3 cups Buttermilk

White Frosting

  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 egg-white
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup margarine softened

Instructions

Flour Mixture

  • In a medium bowl stir together flour, cocoa and salt and set aside.

Creamed MIxture

  • In a large mixing bowl combine crisco, margarine and sugar. Beat on high until fluffy
  • Add the egg and egg yolk to the creamed mixture and mix well

Soda Mixture

  • Dissolve the Baking Soda in the Hot Water and cool slightly.

Combine Mixtures

  • While mixing constantly - add flour mixture alternatively with soda mixture and the buttermilk to creamed mixture.
  • Blend until well mixed.
  • Drop batter by rounded tablespoonful 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake @ 350° for 8-10 minutes.

White Frosting

  • In a medium bowl on low speed mix together powdered sugar, egg-white, and vanilla.
  • Add margarine and crisco to mixture.
  • Beat on high speed until fluffy

Make the Pie

  • Place 2 tbsp of frosting on one chocolate cake and then place another cake on top.
  • Grab an ice cold glass of milk and enjoy
