I wanted to wish all of my readers a Happy Thanksgiving and to let you guys and gals know how thankful I am for you!  I have such nice readers who are always helpful and never mean 🙂  I am thankful  that I get to share my passion for couponing (especially at Giant Eagle) with others everyday!  Before starting my blog, I would share my great finds with my husband and kids….and while they allowed me to go on and on….they probably didn’t share my excitement 😉  I hope you are able to enjoy dinner with your family tonight and I also hope you were able to get that Thanksgiving Feast at a great price!

I recently received an email from Greg with a picture of his Food Bank Donation.  I wanted to share his story with all of you!

Greg started couponing 3 years ago for necessities and to help support his family but realized that there was a greater need than his own.  He is a stay-at-home dad who now mainly coupons for food bank donations.  The picture above is just one of his donations to his local food bank.  This was his second donation to the food bank this year and he also donates the church’s food pantry where his father-in-law is a pastor and any other non-profits he can find.

Greg has created great relationships with his local Giant Eagle’s Staff.  They all know that he donates many products and will place bulk orders for him.  I LOVE this – he is able to get lots of Cheap & Free items without clearing the shelf!!  He has the food banks send thank-you letters to Giant Eagle to thank them for helping to provide items to the food bank.

Greg, You truly are an inspiration and a blessing to your community!  I am honored that you stop by my blog and I am able to help you find deals for your generous donations!

  1. Happy Thanksgiving to you too! Thanks for sharing Greg’s story- what a blessing his town has in him.
I am so truly grateful for finding your blog. You ( and your followers) have literally saved me hundreds of dollars in grocery and personal items. Thank you all, who have contributed to this blog.

  2. Greg is a wonderful man. He has taught me a lot about couponing and helped us grow our nonprofit to incorporate “community couponing” into our mission. I am thrilled to see his story here and can testify that he is an example of couponing at its very best. Happy Thanksgiving!

  3. That is an awesome story thanks for sharing! I have saved our family over $4,100 at Giant Eagle alone this year between sales, Foodperks, Fuelperks, and mainly coupons (over $2,400) and for that I thank you and your wonderful site.

  4. I’d volunteer to do the math, if people would like to post their savings! I attribute so much of it to this website.

My total 12-month savings from Giant Eagle is $3,983, & my coupon savings is $1,902. I was a little miffed that my total dipped under $2,000 this month, but there are worse problems to have, right? I’m stoked that I paid for that much groceries with pieces of paper.

And yes, this is something that I am thankful for, that I have been able to do this for my family (& extended family & friends), with your help. Thank you!!!

    • Great Idea Isabelle! It’d be neat to see what everyone is saving! I’ll have to find my last receipt:) Thank you as well! I am so grateful to have such wonderful, helpful readers! I love being part of this Giant Eagle shoppers group!!
