Giant Eagle Coupon Policy Change 2015

It’s official.  Giant Eagle’s coupon policy will be changing on 9/28/15!  Thanks to Alicia from the Giant Eagle Couponers Group for letting us know and for the pictures of the changes.

We have some changes and some things that are just clarified better.  You can see the pictures and more details HERE!  If you are looking for the current Giant Eagle Deals AND the New matchup that starts Thursday, go HERE!

Highlights of NEW Giant Eagle Coupon Policy:

  • Limit of 5 “like” insert coupons.
    (was 12)
  • Limit of 2 “like” printables.
    (stayed the same)
  • If a coupon has a more restrictive limit, that limit will apply.
(most GE’s were following this anyway)
  • No Stacking – not even store coupons.
(many used to allow stacking store coupons with manufacturer coupons)
  • Coupon value cannot exceed price.
    (they used to adjust down)
  • Over 20 coupons and you cannot use self-checkout.
(before they just said “large amounts”)
  • Coupons that state “do not double” will not be doubled.
(they used to allow any coupon that automatically doubled to double)
  • …………and more

Thanks again Alicia!

  1. This is heartbreaking….giant eagle still gets their money….now I get to make multiple trips…this really sucks….

  2. bad move you will definitely loose business especially with meijer moving into the area i can’t wait for them to get here!

  3. Do you know about rainchecks, I have numerous rainchecks written for my local store written for quantity of 12, are they going to still honor that quantity?

    • This might depend on the store. It looks like they will only have to take up to 5 “like” coupons but some may honor it since they were given to you before the change. Let me know what they say when you go to redeem them 🙂

    • The point of the rain check is to get the item they’re out of not to extreme coupon. You can get all 12 but only use 5 coupons

  4. I’m suprised it took this long. Meijer and kroger stopped doubling coupons over a year ago so at least they didn’t stop that.

    • It’s per 24 hours and it states per person. I think we will learn more once the changes take place 🙂
