I just used this coupon at Giant Eagle with no problems!
Tonight GE refused to take this coupon. Cashier said that it is not a grocery store so it is not a competitor. I mailed to customer service and got this answer
” According to our Coupon Policy the only competitor coupons that we accept can only be from 1 of the 3 retailers: A Grocery Store, a Convenience store or a Pharmacy retailer. Therefore the answer to your question is Yes, we can refuse your coupon since it wasn’t from any of those types of stores.”
ugh….bummer!! My store has taken Family dollar coupons in the past. Thanks for letting us know!
I saw that someone posted on HCW that Giant Eagle said on their facebook page that all GE stores should be accepting competitor coupons and if this was a $3 printable that it would be fine. You may want to call customer service and ask them and then tell them what store would not accept it.
Ya, but still this person from customer service, who emailed me, stated that Family Dollar is not a Grocery store, not a competitor. I will try to go to another GE. Wonder if they accept General Dollar as competitor? I used once a coupon without any problem but it depends on cashier also I guess. It was not “my” cashier yesterday.

I call BS on this one! Definition of a convenience store: a small store that stocks a range of everyday items such as groceries, toiletries, alcoholic and soft drinks, tobacco products, and newspapers.
Family Dollar is a convenience store.

You are right! I made a notice on Facebook again. There is another person also who met this trouble at GE.
I think the coupon is gone now =(
