Tammy,
I’m new to SavingStar, just signed up yesterday actually. So with SavingStar, do you just send all the offers to your card or do you just pick things that you use? With these offers are they always available or are they like coupons and have a limit and once that limit is reached, they are no longer available? I’m just trying to find more information about SavingStar. Thanks for everything!
im so confused with savingstar……i clicked the offer for the international delight is this like a coupon? also if im using 3 coupons for .50/1 honey nut cherrios can i still use (or stack i guess) them with the saving star offer. I dont understand.
Seth & Jenna,
I’ve cashed out many times already. There is some controversy over whether they should be stacked or not. On their site, it states that they are not intended to be stacked. However, you will still get the deposit even if you use a paper coupon for the item. One day they may change that and be able to tell if you used a coupon and not give you the deposit but for right now it works. I AM all about ethical couponing, but for me, this is something they need to fix if they don’t want people stacking them. If we activate the savingstar coupon and then find out we have a better paper coupon (one that doubles ….plus one that we don’t have to wait to see the money), then we are certainly going to use the paper coupon and we can’t help that we still get the savingstar deposit. I kinda also feel like Savingstar in some way wants people to be able to stack since it makes people more likely to use their site and clip their coupons! Anyway……it’s up to you whether you stack or not but yes it will work. The Deposit does take some time get into your account. I’d guess around 3 days up to 2 weeks! Just be sure that you do put your store rewards card numbers in so it tracks your purchases! Let me know if you have any other questions
I don’t choose them all. There are many that I choose that I don’t end up using (more than likely a good deal did not come along), but ones for baby items, and other items that I Know I will not be buying, I don’t activate them at all. They do reach a limit just like a coupon but they don’t seem to go as FAST as some printables do! They are a one time use just like a cellfire or eOffer, but instead of getting the amount discounted at the register, it collects in your account until you reach at least $5. At $5 or more you can “cash out” using paypal, Amazon Gift Cards and more
awesome thank you so much for answering
Thank you for explaining it! It makes a lot more sense to use SavingStar just for the extra money, even though it may take awhile.
So if I load my GE and CVS card, how does that work? Is it better to just load one card or will SavingStar keep track of everything. For example, if I purchase the coffee cream at GE and CVS, will it “count” even though it was done at different stores, using two different store cards? I don’t know if that makes sense or not but I’m just wondering how it works with different cards.
Yes, it should count no matter where you buy it as long as it’s a participating stores and you’ve added your store card to your SavingStar account. I especially love these ones that you have to buy a certain amount to get $5 back. Just doing my normal shopping, I already have about $14 of unilever products, so if I just buy $6 more I’ll get the $5 back. I thought you would have been doing SavingStar all along
I just never fully understood how it worked so I never signed up for it. After reading what you have posted it does seems like a great deal especially using coupons and SavingStar. I live in a Condo so I have limited space on what I can stockpile so when something is “buy x amount get x amount” it usually makes it a challenge to find a place to store everything. I do great on everyday items such as toothpaste, mouthwash, etc. but when it comes to grocery shopping, I hardly ever save. I just think grocery shopping is hit or miss but hopefully I’ll be able to do a little better with SavingStar. Thanks
i bought some of the creamer today but it didnt show up anything for savingstar on the reciept or my account did i do something wrong?
Jenna- Savingstar won’t show up on your receipt at all. As long as you have your rewards cards entered on your SS account, in about three days (that’s the earliest….many times it’s 2 weeks), it’ll show up online in your SavingStar Account. They are really slow about updating, but I’ve always received what I earned
ok thank you so much
I printed 2 International Delight .55 coupons yesterday–
and today I tried again and it allowed me to print 2 more.
Same account–different day.
do you need different computers or different printers to print a bunch of these coupons? I printed from my house computer yesterday and tried from my laptop (hooked up to the same printer) today but it said i already printed coupons and wouldn’t let me.
You just need different computers. I’m not sure why it wouldn’t let you print from a different one?
darn i just tryed again from my husbands computer and it still won’t let me print more
all the ceral printable coupons will let me print from all 3 computers 2x’s each but im only having trouble with the coffee mate and international delight….weird???
