Looks like some good deals!! Thanks for putting together this list despite the problems! Question, though…has anyone found a place to get the extra Red Plums in the Pittsburgh area? They used to put them in the Washington Observer-Reporter, but I haven’t been able to find them in the store copy anymore. Looks like a lot of deals hing on this ‘Sundays’ insert.

I would like to say…Shannon, I’m not sure what area you’re in but I buy my O-R at Huckleberrys or Sil’s in Oakdale & they have the Redplum in it. That’s the only place I know of.

I would like to say…On Bertolli’s facebook there was a coupon for $2 off the frozen soup!

Erin–Thanks. I’m in the South Hill area. The closest place I could get the O-R was at a Giant Eagle near South Park (about a 20 minute drive), so that was ideal. I did that for a while, but then I went for weeks in a row and no redplums (searched through multiple O-R papers to make sure). So, I stopped making the drive about a month ago. That’s so weird how your store has them in them but not mine. Maybe I’ll try again this week. I’ve never heard of those stores…are they small convenience stores? They aren’t actually over the Washington line, right?

I would like to say… There is a .75/1 hellmanns coupon on recyclebank for 125 points making it only 1.50 and there is also a .50/2 progresso soup printable on http://www.everydaysaver.com/walmart making it only .50 a can.

thank you soo much for the match-ups you do the best job around!!

I live north of pittsburgh and we also don’t get the redplum we only get Erie times and pitts post and they do have them. bummer. My bro and sis live in KY and if there is going to be great coupons I have them pick me up a few papers and mail the coupons to me. but if you want you could use a coupon clipping service.

I would like to say…Shannon, you could try the market district in bethel park. i would call customer service at the store, ask them to look for you! i get my or delivered and have always had my rp’s in them. also ob’s website has a feature that let’s you find where to buy their papers.

I would like to say… also in the 1/29 ss there is a .55/1 vlasic pickel coupon and they are on sale this week for $2 so only .90 a jar

Thanks guys! I’ll updates the coupons I missed by this evening.
Shannon – I get my Observer Reporter in Burgettstown and they still have the Redplum in them…I wonder if someone is swiping them from your store?

Katie–Okay, so I’m starting to believe people were stealing the inserts out of the o-r at that Giant Eagle. Read some posts of other things like that happening in the area. It being a big store, maybe it’s a place to hit without being noticed. I’ll try that Market District…a bit further, but if I can get them there, it’s worth it. Does the Market District also have the Tribune Review 2 papers for $1.51 deal. That’s the other reason I was going to the South Park GE.

I’m confused on the coupons used from the p&g on the Tide and Crest toothpaste. I have a $.75 off of crest toothpaste, you listed $.50 off from p&g, I also don’t have a $2.00 off Tide product to use for the Tide to go stain remover, I do have a $2.00 off Tide detergent or stain release, did I get a completly different insert lol??

I would like to say…Went to my GE this morning and my store did not double the toothbrush coupon to $1.50. They only double up to $1.00. Wanted to let everyone know to be on the lookout at their stores.

Also, the Progresso Soup printable ($.50/1) is actually $.50/2. I don’t know if they changed it or if it was always like that.

The Wishbone Dressing is NOT ringing up at shelf price!!! Bought 8 and did not receive the cat. Looked at my receipt and that’s when I saw that it was only ringing at sale price. The Hellmann’s and Lipton ARE ringing up at shelf. Not sure about the Bertolli.

I would like to say…Shannon, the stores in Oakdale are just little convenient stores. I’m soo lucky to be able to buy the O-R nearby because the next closest place would be Burgettstown. Maybe ask the customer service at the store you are buying them at, it seems odd there’s no coupons. Maybe the stuffer is a couponer haha

The Dole canned pineapple was marked 4/$5 at my Elyria, Oh store and in the ad. Anyone find it for .80? Maybe regional?

Tammy,

I was just wondering about the Bounty Paper Towels. They are on sale for $1 and with the P&G coupon for $.25 off, which would double to $.50, so would this be a good stock up price for $.50 each?? I know sometimes you can get these for free but was just curious. I’m just wondering what is a good stock up price for paper towels.

Seth – I think 50¢ is a great deal! I don’t go overboard stocking up at this price though since they do go on sale for cheaper. It also depends on how “big” their big roll is:)

Is 1.67 a good stock up price for kraft singles?

Hillary, Depends on the size, but even for the small size it’s a decent price:) This isn’t something I buy a lot of so I’m not sure if it’s a great stock-up price or not. I would suggest looking at the same size of store brand cheese and if the Kraft is a lot cheaper than the store brand price, then stock up:) However, last year at one point, I think we were able to grab these for around 50¢….doesn’t it stink that when you are able to get something for really cheap that it’s hard to pay more for it?!

I remember they were giving away cats and they were very cheap ( I think I bought like 9 packs). We are in need though… Good idea! I’ll check price on store brand:)

Bertolli meals are also working on shelf price- I bought 3 Lipton tea (shelf= $4.09 * 3= $12.27) and one Bertolli meal (shelf $7.99), and the $7 catalina printed. Actual price paid was around $12, and with the $7 back, I’m thrilled to get 3 boxes of tea bags and a frozen meal for $5!

So, and update to my Observer Reporter question. I went today to 3 different stores in the South Hills, and looked through multiple papers at each. All of them had the O-R with the SS and P&G, but none of them had any RPs. :( Big old boo-hoo. I just don’t get it. Either they don’t send the OR with the RPs out to the ‘Pittsburgh’ area (ie Allegheny County), or it’s the person who stuffs them for all those stores that is keeping them (but not the SS/P&G?) Almost considering driving to the Washington County line to see if I can find any. How good are the RPs? Esp since there is 2–worth the 1/2 hour drive each way?

Shannon – yea, if you went to multiple stores and none of them had the rp, maybe Allegheny County doesn’t get the RP….I didn’t even realize that Allegheny County got the OR. I think the RP’s in the OR are pretty good:)

Shannon, i get the Red Plums in my mail with the sale ads and I have to buy a paper to get the Smart Source. My sister howerver, lives 5 minutes away from me gets the Red Plum, Smart Source, and P&G coupon inserts in her mail with the sale ads and doesn’t have to buy a paper. Maybe its a regional thing, but I’d call and check it out before assuming someone is taking them out…

i am a different shannon than the one who commented above, but just wanted to say that we used to only get a tiny ss with like 5 coupons in our meadville paper. the pittsburgh and erie papers got bigger ss. we never got p&g or RP in them. i nevert got rp or p&g in the mail either. just recently we started getting p&g in the papers and i get one in the mail now. my mom lives 15 minutes away, and she gets rp and p&g in the mail and always has. its a regional thing.
